Kuumbi Cave

The somewhat spooky looking Kuumbi Cave lies just west of the southern end of Jambiani Beach. This archaeological marvel unveils a unique tapestry of human occupation spanning over 20,000 years, with intriguing lithic and ceramic finds during the periodic excavations that have taken place in the area. The cave’s mystique extends to the local Hadimu populace, who revere it as a sacred heritage site. Unlike the Kuza Cave which is a couple of kilometres to the north, Kuumbi Cave does not have any pools for swimming.
