One of the most luxurious hotels on the east coast of Zanzibar, located 65 km from Zanzibar Town, on the Eastern coast of Zanzibar, on a blissful stretch of palm-fringed beach with white sand and dazzling blue water, Karafuu is one of the only hotels on the east coast where it is possible to enjoy a comfortable swim in the ocean at low tide. A concrete path in front of the hotel leads to a permanent natural depression in the ocean, offering a natural swimming pool.  The 89 rooms are divided into 26 Junior Suites all sea facing with, 35 Cottages on a gentle slope just behind the junior suites in the second row and 28 Superior Rooms at the top of the slope in the lush tropical gardens. All are extremely pleasant and styled in a traditional Zanzibar theme, complete with all comforts and independent air conditioning.
